MultiVersus is free to play platform fighter by WB Games. The game offers an iconic fighter selection from famous cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny, the Iron Giant or Superman. It is strongly reminiscent of the genre great Smash Bros., but impresses with unique gameplay elements that provide a breath of fresh air.
To start in MultiVersus: Master all tutorials
When you start the game for the first time, you will be taken straight to the Beginner Tutorial thrown. Here you will learn the basics like movement, attack and dodge. After completing the Beginner’s Tutorial, you’ll unlock Wonder Woman and a host of other fighters that you can start playing with right now.
However, before you jump into your first PvP match, we strongly recommend the advanced tutorials to be completed. There are a total of 12 advanced tutorials that teach you various subtleties and useful tricks.
Not only will this improve your chances of survival, but it will also give you a good idea of how MultiVersus differs from other platform fighters. In the advanced tutorials you will learn dogfights, movement on walls, what’s up with the recoil influence is all about and much more.
Character classes are crucial
The fighters in MultiVersus are divided into five different character classes: bat, tank, supporter, assassin and magician. Each class encourages a different playstyle: tanks, for example, are lumbering giants that can absorb a lot of damage. Assassins, on the other hand, are extremely quick and deadly, but do not have the qualities to take a beating.
Familiarize yourself with each class and decide which role you would most like to play. Especially in team matches it is important that Strength and weakness of a class to play off As a magician, for example, you should keep your distance and wear down the opponent with devastating ranged attacks.
Tanks, in turn, should protect the supports and assassins and absorb the enemy’s damage. MultiVersus has a strong focus 2v2 matches. In most cases, the right interaction between you and your partner determines the victory and defeat of the round.
Familiarize yourself with the MultiVersus Glossary
The glossary is an encyclopedia of the most important terms in the game. Almost everyone will be here Gameplay elements and game mechanics explained. You can access the glossary at any time from the main menu by selecting the left menu bar and clicking on the book icon. The glossary is divided into three categories: Modifiers, Game, and Economy.
Under “Modifiers” you will find information about status effects, passive skills and elements. Many special attacks afflict the opponent with additional penalties, which are also called debuffs. In the “Game” category, basic terms are explained, such as “Combo”, “Recoil Influence”, “Armor Breaking” or “Clamps”.
In the “Economy” category you will find explanations about rewards, the progression system and individual profile adjustments. Here you will also be explained what experience points, mastery levels and gold are all about. Feel free to browse the glossary if you want to learn more about the game.
Focus on one character
If you want to improve in a fighting game, you should first focus on mastering a character. Before you spend your hard-earned gold to unlock a new character, you should check out all of the fighters in the laboratory test.
In this special training mode you can try out all the characters, regardless of whether you own them or not. Familiarize yourself with the different abilities and attacks and choose the character that appeals to you the most.
Train your combos in the lab
The Laboratory is the ideal training ground for practicing a fighter’s attacks and combos. In the laboratory, you always have the option of changing the opponent’s difficulty or turning him completely into one disabled sandbag to transform.
Check out the action list
In the main menu you can choose yours in the left menu list collection call. In the collection, you can look at all the playable characters and familiarize yourself with the corresponding movesets. First select a character and click on “Action List” at the bottom of the screen. In the action list you can find all information about a character’s basic attacks, special attacks and passive abilities.
The best starter characters in MultiVersus
wonder woman
Wonder Woman is a good one all-rounder and extremely mobile as a tank. Her main weapon is the sword, which she can use to perform lightning-fast attacks. The lasso serves as a gap closer and allows you to pull enemies towards you. Defense of the Gods special attack, cleanses allies of debuffs and grants a shield.
Wonder Woman’s passive ability is “bracer bar”. If Wonder Woman blocks a projectile with her shield or is hit while she has armor, she fills up a special meter. This in turn amplifies their “Amazon Scream” – an enormously powerful explosion of energy.
taz
Taz is an extremely offensive brawler that gets stronger with each successful attack. Taz’s passive ability is “Barrel without ground”: Some of his attacks apply the stacking Yummy status to the opponent. If you have placed enough “Tasty” stacks on the enemy, they will turn into a fried chicken and be unable to attack for a short time.
If you damage a fried chicken, the chicken loses delicious chicken pieces. The fallen chicken pieces will heal you or your ally if you pick them up. Taz can also heal his teammate directly by licking them. Lick has a cooldown.
Harley Quinn
As an Assassin, Harley Quinn has one tremendous speed and high damage, but withstands less. Nonetheless, Quinn’s attacks are very manageable and easy to learn.
Harley Quinn’s passive ability is “Time for confetti”. After inflicting the Confetti status on an enemy, you and your ally must knock back the victim multiple times to blow them up.
