How to defeat the Pokemon: Nidoran has been known to fans since the first generation of Pokémon. Just like in the main games, in Pokémon GO it is of the Poison type. Therefore, it is particularly vulnerable to ground and psychic attacks. To defeat this Pokémon from Arlo, you can use the following counters:
- Mewtwo with Confusion and Psychoblast
- Simsala with confusion and psychokinesis
- Hoopa with confusion and psychokinesis
Nidoran is relatively weak and easy to defeat. Above all, stick to well-known psycho attackers like Mewtwo or Simsala, with confusion you should have knocked out Arlo’s first monster in no time at all.

How to defeat the Pokemon: Iksbat is of the Poison and Flying types. You are effective with the types rock, electro, psycho and ice. Above all, you should use these Pokémon to defeat the Iksbat Arlo:
- Mewtwo with Confusion and Psychoblast
- Terrakium with catapult and stone hail
- Hoopa with confusion and psychokinesis
Mainly relies on Psychic Pokémon. Mewtwo or Hoopa should have no problem with Iksbat. Alternatively, rock-type Pokémon like Terrakion also work just fine.

- Reshiram with Fire Fang and Fusion Flare
- Lucario counterattacks and boosts
- Stalobor with clay shot and percussion drill
Steelix can primarily be defeated by Ground-type Pokémon. Stalobor easily intercepts Steelix’s Steel-type attacks and can then strike with Ground-type attacks. But Reshiram or Lucario are also easily enough for Steelix.

Here’s how to defeat Arlo’s Pokemon: Wielie is a rock-grass-type Pokémon, so it has a good attack surface. Namely, thanks to the type combination, it is vulnerable to Fighting, Bug, Steel, and Ice. Instead, pound him with Steel or Ghost Attackers.

How to defeat the Pokemon: Charizard is of the types fire and flight – contrary to the opinion of many fans, not a dragon. This makes it particularly vulnerable to water and electric attacks. It even has a double weakness against rock. Above all, you should use these Pokémon to defeat Arlo:
- Terrakium with catapult and stone hail
- Rhyperior with catapult and rock launcher
- Tyranitar with catapult and stone edge
Rock Attackers are not uncommon and most should probably have some on their team. Rock-type Pokémon are the best choice for Charizard, after all they are twice as effective as water and electric attackers. Of course, the latter are also a good choice for defeating Arlo if you don’t have a strong rock Pokémon.

How to defeat the Pokemon: Only one type helps with Scherox: fire. The Bug and Steel-type Pokémon only has one weakness, but Scizor hits it twice. You should choose the following monsters:
- Heatran with Fire Swirl and Flamethrower
- Entei with Fire Swirl and Flamethrower
- Lavados with Fire Swirl and Heat Fever
Here you can use your Fire Pokémon really effectively to defeat Arlo. Any Fire-type Pokémon that isn’t too weak should defeat Scizor. Heatran or Entei with fast Charged Attacks should have the fewest problems with Scizor. However, keep in mind that Scizor has fast charging attacks and can therefore easily steal your shields.

How to defeat the Pokemon: Armaldo is a rock bug attacker. Because of this, it’s vulnerable to Rock, Steel, and Water-type moves in Pokémon GO. So if Arlo attacks with Armaldo, we recommend the following counterattacks:
- Metagross with Bullet Punch and Star Punch
- Terrakium with catapult and stone hail
- Kyogre with cascade and surfers
Given the counters against Arlo so far, you should be able to counter Armaldo relatively easily. Especially the rock weakness will benefit you here again. Top counters such as Rihornior or Terrakium are suitable as rock attackers. Arlo doesn’t stand a chance in Pokémon GO.

Deploy the team as follows: You should use a Rock or Psychic Pokémon against Nidoran. We recommend a psycho monster like Mewtwo, as it is also effective against Iksbat. You can then use your Fire Pokémon against Steelix and Scizor – depending on which monster Arlo chooses. You can then use Terrakion to defeat Armaldo and Charizard. Iksbat can also be easily defeated by Terrakion.
Should Arlo Wielie use, you’ll have to switch teams and pack a steel attacker. Metagross should be a good choice as it should be strong against other Arlo candidates as well. If Arlo doesn’t use Wielie, you can also use a Fighting Pokémon as a third option to defeat Arlo in Pokémon GO in February 2023.

How to find Arlo: You can find the Rocket Boss Arlo just like the other two: with the help of a Rocket Radar. But you have to put this together first. If you fight Rocket Grunts and emerge victorious, you’ll be rewarded not only with Stardust, but also with a piece for the Rocket Radar. You need six pieces in total – so you have to defeat six louts.

Note these tips: As a beginner, the Team Rocket bosses can make life difficult for you. After all, some of the best Konte Pokémon aren’t even on the team yet. Defeating Arlo in Pokémon GO will still be easy if you follow these tips and tricks:
- Draw out shields: Arlo always uses his shields on your first two charge attacks. So you should use fast charge attack at the beginning to quickly leave him defenseless.
- Clever Shield Use: You don’t always have to use a shield when Arlo uses a Charged Attack. If the boss has the attack ready very quickly, it is usually not that strong. So you can play a little poker here.
- Same stop, same Pokemon: If you challenge Arlo at a PokéStop in Pokémon GO, he’ll have the same Pokémon at that stop all day. So if you lose, you can better prepare your team for the fight afterward – after all, you know exactly what monsters await you.
- Use change break: If Arlo changes his Pokemon, you should keep tapping your screen. When you switch, there is a short window of time in which the boss cannot attack, but you still deal damage.
