Find Astel, Abyssal Spawn
The Abyssal Spawn is the final boss standing between you and the Moonlight Altar in Rannis Quest (Guide). As described in the linked guide, you have to go through the Nokstella Eternal City and the Blight Lake battle. At the Great Cloister, a coffin will lead you over a waterfall into the boss arena.

Strengths and weaknesses of Boss Astel
The Spawn of the Abyss attacks you too standard physical damage and magic. He prefers to use gravity magic. You can break his stance to critically hit him. Hits on his head are particularly suitable for this. However, he cannot be parried.
He also has medium resistances to Holy damage, Magic, Lightning, and Fire. The status effects Bleeding, Poison and Scarlet Blight you can get through it with a little commitment. The latter two in particular quickly get the boss into trouble. However, he is immune to Frost, Sleep, Madness, and Death Plague.

Magic fog and melee attacks
Watch out for his horizontal punches magic mist, which explodes after about a second. First dodge the blow and then keep your distance. If Astel pulls his left arm across the ground and creates the magic mist, you have a good opportunity to attack him from afar.
Lasers and aerial attacks
Form Astel one purple ball in front of his body, he will fire a laser beam at you in the next moment. Dodge sideways once he launches the beam. Occasionally, the Abyssal Spawn will rise into the air.
Does he load the right hand with magic up, he will charge at you with one blow. Dodges to the side and sprints towards Astel’s rear end. Give him heavy attacks. If small flares appear around the boss, keep your distance.
Watch out for the meteor shower
His most dangerous attack is the meteor rain. Astel conjures purple portals above his head, which will shoot boulders at you in the next few moments. Keep moving and keep dodging sideways. If Astel teleports away, he always appears to your left and tries to grab you. Dodge his grip backwards and give him a quick punch.

If Astel, Abyssal Spawn is too difficult for you, there is a trick to defeating the boss relatively easily. Obtain the ash “Mimic Tear” (Guide) in Nokron. Then fully upgrade it. As a result, he already gets very robust spirit more life points.
Equip yourself with powerful ranged weapons, throwable items and – most importantly – with an invocation that scarlet rot or poison works. If you have collected a few dragon hearts, you will get the extremely strong putrid breath via the dragon communion (guide), for example.
In the boss fight, summons the Mimic Tear and instantly applies Scarlet Rot or Poison to Astel. The spirit ash directs then Astel’s aggression on himself and you can safely attack the boss from afar. At the same time, the poisonous status effect continuously drains life points from him.
