Pokémon GO: Defeat Cliff in February 2023 – this is what his current team looks like
This Pokémon uses Cliff: In total, Cliff can use seven different Pokémon. Cliff currently always chooses Tragosso as the first monster. After that, Cliff randomly chooses one of the three listed Pokémon. Cliff’s current team is as follows:
magnetile | Pinsir | despotary |
Venusaur | Aerodactyl | |
amoroso | camerupt |
In the best case, you should put together a team that is effective against all seven Pokémon. For that you need to know the best counters against all Pokemon and that’s tricky. We will help you and list the best counters and then a strong team for the fight against Cliff in Pokémon GO.

How to defeat the Pokemon: Magnetile has Electric and Steel types in Pokémon GO. This makes it relatively easy to defeat, as it has a particularly pronounced weakness with Ground.
- Stalobor with clay clamp and percussion drill
- Mamutel with clay clamp and horsepower
- Rhyperior with clay clamp and earthquake
In addition to these three, there are countless other ways to flatten Magnetilo quickly and easily. In the best case scenario, you should use a Pokémon that has a fast charging attack. So you can lure out Cliff’s two shields directly with the first Pokémon and have an easy game in the further course of the fight.
Pokémon GO: Defeat Cliff in February 2023 – The best counters against Pinsir

How to defeat the Pokemon: Pinsir is of the Beetle types. You are effective with fire, flight and rock. Pinsir uses Fighting moves alongside Bug moves, using these counters to defeat Cliff:
- Ho-Oh with Incinerate and Swoop
- Heatran with Fire Swirl and Flamethrower
- Lavados with flapping wings and sky sweeper
Instead of the strong fire/flying attackers, you can also fully rely on rock, but then you may suffer high damage from Pinsir’s combat attacks. Lavados and Ho-Oh have a resistance to everything Pinsir and Cliff throw at you.
Pokémon GO: Defeat Cliff in February 2023 – The best counters against Venusaur

How to defeat the Pokemon: Venusaur is Poison and Grass type. However, Bisaflor is much more resilient than other plant-type Pokémon. It’s best to attack it with flying, fire, psychic, or ice attacks. We recommend these counters to defeat Cliff:
- Mewtwo with Confusion and Psychoblast
- Heatran with Fire Swirl and Flamethrower
- Skelabra with Fire Swirl and Heat Fever
You can also use attackers like Lavados, Latios, Flampivian, Lugia or Entei. Bisaflor shouldn’t cause you any problems, since there are more than enough counter possibilities and most trainers will probably have a strong Fire-type Pokémon on their team. With that, Cliff is defeated very quickly in February 2023 as well.
Pokémon GO: Defeat Cliff in February 2023 – The best counters against Amoroso

How to defeat the Pokemon: Amoroso is the final evolution of Amonitas, and is therefore of the Rock and Water type. Fighting, ground and electric are strong against Amoroso, but you should especially rely on plant attacks, since they are even twice as effective.
- Katagami with Razor Blade and Leaf Blade
- Zarude with tendril slash and leaf scourge
- Stalobor with clay clamp and percussion drill
You shouldn’t have any problems with the plant attackers. In addition to the three mentioned here, the best plant attackers in Pokémon GO also include Shaymin (Zenith), Roserade, Brigaron, Gewaldro and Tangoloss. Alternatively, of course, monsters like Bisaflor or Kapilz are also possible.
Pokémon GO: Defeat Cliff in February 2023 – The best counterattacks against Tyranitar

How to defeat the Pokemon: Tyranitar is Dark and Rock types. It therefore has some weaknesses. Effective are the types Grass, Water, Ground, Fighting, Bug, Fairy, and Steel. Tyranitar has a double weakness against combat. You should use these monsters to defeat Cliff:
- Master attack with a counterattack and a powerful punch
- Lucario counterattacks and boosts
- Machamp with counterattack and impact
You should primarily use fighting Pokémon against Tyranitar. There’s a lot of choice here, so you shouldn’t have a problem picking a useful attacker. Another benefit is that Tyranitar is vulnerable to so many other types as well. So you can also use Pokémon that you packed for the other opposing monsters. Torterrar or Bisaflor are good examples here. Fighting Pokémon work best.
Pokemon GO: Defeating Cliff in February 2023 – The best counters against Tohaido

How to defeat the Pokemon: Tohaido is Water and Dark type. It is therefore vulnerable to Fighting, Bug, Grass, Electric, and Fairy-type Pokémon. So you have various options to face the shark Pokémon. Use the following counters to defeat Cliff:
- Katagami with Razor Blade and Leaf Blade
- Lucario counterattacks and boosts
- Voltrian with Thunder Shock and Charge Blast
You can fight Tohaido with various types. Katagami, Terrakium and Voltriant should bring you to victory the fastest, but Keldeo, Lucario, Schabelle or Zekrom also prove to be strong counters. These monsters should bring victory against Cliff in Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO: Defeat Cliff in February 2023 – The best counters against Camerupt
Camerupt in Pokémon GO © Niantic / The Pokémon Company (montage)
How to defeat the Pokemon: Camerupt is Fire and Ground type. With this combo, you could try countering with Ground-type attacks, but your best bet is Water-type attacks since Fire/Ground is doubly vulnerable to it. These counters will help you best against Camerupt:
- Kyogre with cascade and surfers
- Kingler with bubbler and krabbhammer
- Admurai with Cascade and Aqua Howitzer
The fight against Camerupt should be over quickly since it has a double weakness to Water-type attacks. You should also have lured all of Cliff’s shields by now. Camerupt should therefore not pose any problems for defeating Cliff.
Pokémon GO: Defeat Cliff in February 2023 – The best team against Cliff
What you need to know about team building: In the best case, you build a team that can effectively hit all of Cliff’s Pokémon. That shouldn’t be too difficult in February 2023, since Cliff currently has many Pokemon with the same weaknesses on his team:
Stalobor with clay clamp and percussion drill | Lucario counterattacks and boosts | Heatran with Fire Swirl and Flamethrower |
How to use the team: The first thing you should do is use a Stalobor, after all, Cliff sends Magnetilo into the fight first. Flampivian is also effective against Amoroso, so that already covers two of the Rocket Boss’ monsters. After that, you should send a Fire-type Pokémon like Heatran into battle if Cliff Pinsir or later Bisaflor uses it. After all, you are well prepared against Despotar with Lucario.
If Cliff has Camerupt on the team, you can counteract it with Stalobor. Water-type Pokémon like Kyogre or Kingler would be the stronger alternative, but they are not an absolute must in battle.
Pokémon GO: Find Cliff in February 2023 – How to get the Rocket Radar
How do you find Cliff? You can find Cliff with the Rocket Radar. You get this radar after defeating six Rocket Grunts. For each win there is a component of the Rocket Radar, which is automatically assembled after the sixth win. Alternatively, you can also buy this rocket radar in the in-game shop.

If you have the Rocket Radar, you can use it on the right side of the screen and search the area for Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo. Run to a PokéStop where Cliff appears and challenge him there. Alternatively, run around with the Rocket Radar and randomly meet the Rocket Boss, who you can then challenge. After defeating Cliff, the radar breaks and you have to assemble a new one.
Pokémon GO: Defeating Cliff in February 2023 – tips and tricks in battle
Note these tips: In order to defeat Cliff quickly, you should use a few tips and tricks. This makes the fight easier and you can win faster. The most important tips for the fight can be found here:
- Draw out shields: Cliff always uses the two shields in your first two charging attacks. So it’s worth using fast charging attacks to first lure out the shields and only later in the fight to use the big attacks.
- Same stop, same Pokemon: If you fight Cliff once, you should see it through to victory. If you ever lose, that’s no problem. If you challenge him again at the same PokéStop, he’ll use the same Pokémon again, so you can better build your team.
- use tactics: Use your Charged Attacks wisely. If the opposing Pokémon is almost defeated, use your Fast Attacks and then slam the finished Charged Attack into the next Pokémon. You can charge up to three Charged Attacks in a row without having to use them.
- Use change break: Keep tapping your screen and trying to use Fast Attacks – even if Cliff is in the process of swapping his Pokemon, you can deal damage for a short time, although it doesn’t seem like it. You should definitely take advantage of this short time.
Once a month you also have the chance to get a Super Rocket Radar. With this you can defeat Giovanni in Pokémon GO. In addition, the fight against the other two Rocket bosses is similarly difficult. Defeating Sierra and defeating Arlo in Pokémon GO also only works with the right counters.
