Brave Gargoyles: Strengths and Weaknesses
The Brave Gargoyles rely heavily on standard physical damage. So equip yourself with a shield that this type of damage 100% repelled. Sturdy armor is also useful. Occasionally they also spray some poison. So a few healing boluses won’t hurt.
Forget any status effects. The stone monsters are immune to Frost, Scarlet Blight, Poison, Bleeding, and Death Plague. They also repel Fire, Lightning, and Holy damage well. The best way to counter them is to use slam and standard damage weapons.
Brave Gargolyes: How to defeat the double boss
Brave Gargoyles Stage 1: Sword and Axe
In the first phase of the boss fight you only fight against one of the Brave Gargoyles. This copy wields two guns, which it uses alternately: a sword and an axe. When he uses the ax, stay close to the gargoyle. The blows are rather slow and you can easily dodge them.
Attack him after each ax blow that goes nowhere. If the gargoyle raises his weapon over his head, he shoots a shockwave on you. Dodge sideways just before impact. If he pulls the ax to his body and rises into the air, he’ll swoop down on you in the next moment. Dodge sideways just before he hits you and give him a quick swipe.
If the gargoyle draws the sword, uses a strong shield and stays at a distance. His sword slashes are harder to dodge. After the weapon change, there is a short break and then mostly an area attack. Use the chance for hard hits, but distances itself soon enough. You are on the safe side with magic, invocations or ranged weapons.
Brave Gargoyles Stage 2: Dual-bladed Gargoyle
If you have halved the life bar of the first gargoyle, his sidekick comes into play with the double blade. Try to separate the two gargoyles as much as possible, but keep an eye on them both. Otherwise you run the risk of someone attacking you from behind.
First, focus on using ranged attacks on the already weakened gargoyle with a sword and axe. Strong magic attacks are most effective. If the dual-bladed gargoyle quickly spins its weapon in a circle in front of it, prepare for a flying attack. Dodge sideways just before he hits you. Then he crouches for a moment. Use the time for heavy attacks.
The double-bladed gargoyle also occasionally switches to the axe. Here, too, uses the moment of the weapon exchange for an attack. As in phase one, stay close when he uses the axe. Rolls head-on through his ax swings and attacks him. Watch out for stomp attacks.
Brave Gargoyles: With this trick you can lay them loose
If you don’t get along with the double boss, there is a trick: Just to the right of the boss arena entrance is a waterfall. Lure the Gargoyles there and use a Sturdy Ash. The gargoyles focus on the mind. With some ax blows, they hiss backwards at lightning speed after the blow. Use this attack at the waterfall, fall into the abyss and die.
Brave Gargoyles: Boss fight reward
If you have the double boss “Brave Gargoyles” laid, you can over 22,500 Runes, the Gargoyle Greatsword and the Gargoyle Dual Blade be happy. There is also the Brave Gargoyles bronze trophy on top.
