From September 9th to 11th, Disney’s biggest fan event finally took place in Anaheim, California. Our colleagues from kino.de were there live at the D23 Expo and found out new things that gamers in particular shouldn’t miss.
The convention will not only present new films and series from Marvel, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Studios, there will also be news for gamers. In addition to the Marvel game from the developers of Pokémon GO, other games were introduced.
Two new Marvel games coming soon
In phase 5 of the MCU (more on this at kino.de), fans can finally expect the full range of the multiverse. For all gaming fans, however, things will not start until 2023, because with the Online card game Marvel Snap you can immerse yourself in the multiverse from October 18th and get to know different variants of your favorite characters thanks to the cards. If you can hardly wait for the start, you can register now via Apple, Android or Steam.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will take fans on a dark journey to battle the demon Lilith starting December 2nd (pre-order now on Amazon). As part of the Midnight Suns, you delve into the dangerous underworld and fight for good in this mix of RPG and turn-based strategy. Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be released on December 2nd for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions will follow later. Marvel hero in World War II
One of the most exciting announcements during the games panel came in the form of a new Marvel game whose name and release date are yet to be announced. A new video game will be released in collaboration with Skydance New Media, the takes place during World War II. Black Panther, T’Challa’s grandfather, a young Steve Rogers aka Captain America, a US soldier and Nanali, a Wakanda spy, fight side by side against evil. However, judging by the trailer, this won’t be about Hitler and his Nazis, but about Hydra:
