Mini and e-car The cult brand has already shown that they go well together since the Cooper SE has been on the road all-electric. But now you want to break new ground. The concept called Aceman should make gamers’ hearts beat faster. For this, Mini has brought a few Pokémon on board.
Mini shows e-car concept: Gamescom visitors can test Pokémon Mode
After a first look Mini will present its new electric car concept during Gamescom 2022 live to the public in Cologne. What an electric car like the Aceman has lost at the world’s largest games fair, casual passers-by may only ask themselves for a moment: Mini has brought some Pokémon on board and thus created a mode that should make gamers’ hearts beat faster.
So now Pikachu accompanies you through the Experience Mode Toggle. In an animated loop, an opening Pokéball should first be followed by the Yellow Electro-Pokémon flicker across the central OLED display. Pikachu’s lightning attack extends over half of the interior: the floor, fenders and the entire dashboard at the front are bathed in yellow light. Unfortunately, Mini seems to have made a small mistake in his thinking, after all, Pikachu traditionally doesn’t really care about the inside of a Pokéball.

With gaming e-car: Mini wants to attract young customers
The Aceman at Gamescom also comes equipped with a projector, making it possible to play video games anywhere – simply connect the console and off you go. At the same time, Mini wants to start its own “MINIverse”. Interested parties can use the web browser to experience the concept car in different environments. With the electrical concept Aceman, Mini wants to present itself as young, innovative Alternative for a technology and gaming savvy audience present. This should succeed with the targeted appearance. It will be exciting to see what will actually become of the Aceman concept in the future.

I’ll admit it: I’m not a big Pokémon fan. After the original 151 little pocket monsters, the series lost me, and the latest editions with their questionable means of transport don’t change that anymore. I find it all the stronger that Mini relies on the well-known creatures of the first hour, Relaxo and Pikachu take a seat in Aceman. The fact that car manufacturers are discovering Gamescom with BMW and Mini may seem a bit out of place at first glance, but in my opinion it is a good sign – especially in 2022, when industry giants such as Nintendo and Sony are (still) staying away from the event .
