How to start the quest around Seluvis?
You meet Seluvis for the first time during Ranni’s Quest (Guide) in Three Sisters. Join the witch and Preceptor will appear as a ghost in the basement of Ranni’s Tower. Talk to him and he will invite you to visit him in his tower. You can find it to the south of Three Sisters. Talk to him there again and he will ask you to Find Nepheli Loux and give her a potion.

Seluvis’ Potion: Who can I give the potion to?
You don’t necessarily have to give Seluvis’ potion to Nepheli Loux. There are altogether three possible buyers for the Preceptor’s Brew. One of the three options takes the quest in a completely different direction.
Give potion to Nepheli Loux
You can read what you have to do to administer the potion to Nepheli Loux (Guide) in the linked guide. If you have decided to poison the warrior, you end her quest immediately.
Consequences of Nepheli Loux drinking Seluvis’ potion:
- Nepheli Loux’s quest ends immediately
- Nepheli is “exhibited” in Seluvis’ hidden doll’s cellar next to sorceress Sellen
- You can Nepheli Loux’s Doll (Ghost Ash) then buy it from the Carian servant Pidia in Caria’s estate. To do this, ride south along the cliffs of Three Sisters until you can jump onto the wall of Caria. Via the wooden platforms you come to a hatch that leads you to Pidia.
Give potion to dung eater
Once you have arrived in the Altus Plateau, the Dung Eater (Quest Guide) will appear in the Library of the Round Table and you can start his quest. Give potion to Sir Gideon
Talk to Sir Gideon about Nepheli in his room at Keep Round Table once she has wandered into the basement. Show him the potion and he will destroy it. That is the easiest and best optionif you want to successfully complete both Seluvis’ and Nepheli’s quests.
Seluvis: Find secret doll cellar
Once you have given the potion to one of the three buyers, return to Seluvis. He’ll assume you’ve done his job as requested, no matter who you slipped the concoction to. Seluvis now offers you Sorceries for sale on. Take them all from him and go to the ruins between Rannis and Rennas Tower. There you can uncover a secret passage as described in Sellen’s Quest Guide.
In the basement you will find a note from Seluvis. Look at them and then return to the Preceptor. Talk to him about his chambers and him offers you a doll. Take one of these and use it once in battle. Then get Starlight Shards and use them to buy the second doll from him. You may have to return to Seluvis several times before the dialogue option appears.
Starlight Shard Locations
Starlight Shards are a special currency that can also be used to regenerate subclasses. In order to be able to buy a second doll from Seluvis, you need three Starlight Shards. Here are some locations:
- Limgrave: As a reward during Sellen’s quest
- Limgrave: On the hill east of the Bloodhound’s Seal Prison, which you must visit during Blaidd’s Quest (Guide).
- peninsula the tears: On the cliffs east of Oridys’ tower
- Caelid: On a stone sculpture east of the Church of Plague where you can find Millicent (Quest Guide).
Seluvis: Find Starlight Amber
Once you’ve bought the second doll, talk to Seluvis again. He now wants to brew a new potion, but needs it starlight amber. Run to the Carian Servant Pidia and buy the Worn Map. It shows you (roughly) the location of the amber rays of light. You can find her in the Altus Plateau, in a small clearing northeast of the Altus High Road junction.
Complete Seluvis’ quest, get talisman and armor set
Bring the Starlight Amber to Seluvis and you will receive the Magic Scorpion Talisman in return. You now have two options for completing the quest: Either you consider it complete and move on, or you cheat Ranni. If you want to stab the mighty witch in the back, return to Seluvis and he will give you the amber potion.
Important: If you cheat on Ranni, her quest is over at this point and you lose the chance of one of the alternate endings of Elden Ring (Guide). You can undo the betrayal of Ranni by absolution in the Church of Vows.
If Ranni sleeps in her tower, give her the potion. She doesn’t die, but she’s not exactly amused either. If you talk to her three times after that, she will kill you immediately. Seluvis does not survive the small mutiny either. Look for his corpse in his tower and you can see his sound bead and the Preceptor armor set claw. Alternatively, you can find Seluvis’ armor in his tower by completing Ranni’s quest.
