Dead Island 2: Skopes Server Offline – How to turn the servers back on
How do I find the scopes? If you’re slicing your way through HELL-A, sooner or later you’re going to stumble across one of the little Skope devices. As a rule, the small Amazon Echo cuts appear in different houses in each region. If you loot carefully enough in Dead Island 2, you should come across such a device from time to time. However, the map will not help you, the scopes are not displayed on it. It’s best to write down their localities directly, or take screenshots.
You won’t be able to use the skopes for much of the game anyway as their servers are offline. This does not mean the game servers of Dead Island 2. Rather, you have to activate these servers yourself during the course of the game.

How do I unlock the Skopes? In order to properly use the skopes and learn their knowledge, you must continue playing the story of Dead Island 2. In the last third of the main quest you get the order “The search for the truth”. During this quest, you will visit an OK store in the Ocean Avenue region and restart the servers there. Once you’ve done that, you’ll also be able to interact with the previously locked Scopes.

What exactly do the scopes bring? Normally you will be rewarded with loot, for example for finding Curtis Safe Key in Dead Island 2. However, the Skopes will not give you new weapons, but knowledge. Once the servers are back online, you can interact with each skope to learn new plot information and a little extra lore. You must find all of these skopes to complete your save to 100%, but they do not bring any additional benefits.
How many scopes are there? If you want to find all the skopes, you have to plan a little time for searching. There are a total of 25 skopes to be found in Dead Island 2 across all 10 regions. Here’s a quick rundown of how many are hidden in each region:
- Bel Air: 4 scopes
- Beverly Hills: 5 scopes
- Halperin Hotel: 2 scopes
- Monarch Studios: 3 scopes
- Venice Beach: 3 scopes
- Ocean Avenue: 4 scopes

Of course, you can make your search easier by starting a co-op session in Dead Island 2. After all, four eyes search better than two.
