After a first teaser image, the time had finally come last night and we got to see the first moving images of the Super Mario Bros. film. There was also a first taste of the voices of Mario and Bowser on the ears.
You can speak! As promised, the first trailer for the Super Mario Bros. film adaptation was shown at the New York Comic Con. But before you think about the live-action adaptation of the material from 1993 because of flashbacks, stop! Because it is an animated film in which Nintendo is working closely with the renowned studio Illumination (Despicable Me, Minions).

The video shows an attack on the Mushroom Kingdom by the Koopa King Bowser. The main antagonist is spoken by Jack Black, while the hero Mario is voiced by Chris Pratt. What can be heard in the first trailer, both do a very good job and manage to breathe life into the characters and capture the typical Nintendo charm and wit. According to the head of Illumination, Chris Meledandri, the project is fast approaching completion, the animation is in the final stages and the film music is almost completely composed.
The other speakers could not be heard in the trailer, but they are also full of stars. Princess Peach is voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy and Donkey Kong the monkey is voiced by Seth Rogen. So the signs are good that fans of the video game template will have a lot of fun with Super Mario Bros. in cinemas on April 7, 2023.
