The Switch will probably be delivered a little differently soon. (Image source: GIGA.DE)
The Switch still brings in tons of cash for Nintendo. Of course, the Japanese publisher wants it to stay that way. That’s why the hybrid console will come to your home in a slightly modified form in the future.
Packaging of the Nintendo Switch should be smaller
Nintendo still wants to diligently sell Switch consoles. According to its own statements, however, there is currently more demand than the Japanese video game giant can serve. In order to counteract this problem, the packaging of the switch become smaller. Not only does this save Nintendo money, but it also makes it easier to transport many consoles at once (source: Nikkei).
The original report from the Japanese website Nikkei states that the outer packaging of the flagship console should be reduced by 20 percent. A quick comparison shows that the packaging for the OLED variant of the Switch (view on Amazon) is already slightly smaller than that of the original (view on Amazon). Consoles produced in the future should probably be delivered even more compactly.
Here’s what a hacker found out about the Nintendo Switch:
Switch is nearing a major milestone
Just last week, Nintendo had to admit that Switch sales are currently sluggish. the reason for this should also be delivery problems, among other things, which could be toned down a bit with the smaller packaging. Despite rising production costs, however, new customers need not worry. So the Switch should not be more expensive in the near future.
Nintendo also has reason to celebrate. A Look at the worldwide sales figures reveals that the Switch is close to becoming the second best-selling console of all time. The PlayStation 4 has to give up its place for it. Sony needn’t be too sad though. With more than 150 million copies sold, the PlayStation 2 still sits securely on the console throne.
