In our Guide to swing skills in Gotham Knights you experience:
- How you use swing abilities
- How you build momentum
- How to learn new swing skills
Each hero in Gotham Knights uses a combination of melee and ranged attacks as well as powerful swing abilities while fighting crime. In the following guide we have put together all the information you need to know about the skills.
What are swing skills?
Sweep abilities are particularly powerful combat abilities that vary from hero to hero. It refers to active skillswith which you fight the opponents.
In addition to the normal swing abilities, each hero has a particularly strong ability, which is marked in gold and a high cooldown owns.
To use a swing ability, you need the appropriate amount of “momentum“. Momentum is generated automatically as you fight. Particularly daring maneuvers like perfect attacks or perfect dodge generate the most momentum.
How much momentum you currently have is shown at the bottom right using a purple bar displayed. As your adventure progresses, you can accumulate more and more momentum.
Swing skills are particularly good, to defeat mini bosses and control larger hordes of enemies. They can cause elemental effects or stun enemies for a short time.
How do I unlock new swing skills?
You can unlock new swing attacks by progressing and determining in the story Case files or challenges solves. If you want to know what swing skills you can currently unlock, you need to go into the skills menu and select the “Swing Skills” tab.
Swing abilities that have not yet been unlocked are marked with a padlock. Open Challenges for unlocking new swing skills, you can check them out in the “Challenges” menu.
Many challenges require you to defeat a specific enemy type or complete a specific activity on the map. Willful Crimes are only displayed to you when you have collected a certain number of clues from the respective faction.
For example, Robin is given the task of clearing owl nests from the Council of Owls. To access the activity, you must first Find and interrogate Council of Owl informants.
If you need to take out a specific enemy but aren’t sure which faction the enemy belongs to, check the Database. Switch to the “Profiles” tab and then select “Factions”. Here you can display all enemy types you have already fought in Gotham Knights.
