EA boss admits disappointing fans
After the release in November 2021, Battlefield 2042 received a lot of criticism. Reasons included technical problems, low performance, disappointing graphics and extreme weaknesses in the game. EA boss Wilson recently admitted this during a telephone conference with the investment company Goldman Sachs and also spoke about the future of the series.
Here he is surprisingly confident. You have a lot to do now to bring the brand back to its former glory. Speaking, he mentioned that the right creative team could do wonders and completely reinvent and grow the franchise. Whether and what plans he has and whether they are already being worked on in the background, he does not reveal and thus leaves the distant future unspoken.
Admittedly, EA boss Andrew Wilson is not yet showing his cards, however, he currently sees the Battlefield series at a clear advantage over Call of Duty. He is referring to fears that PlayStation could lose the series due to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
In a world where it wouldn’t be certain which platforms Call of Duty would and wouldn’t appear on in the future, that would be a good opportunity for Battlefield to release the series on all platformsaccording to Wilson (source: seekingalpha).
However, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has already cleared this rumor out of the world. Call of Duty will remain on the PlayStation – at least for the foreseeable future.
