Changing the Wind Direction – Where to find the quest
You get the task from “Xarantaur, the Witness”. This taure is located in the Storm Peaks, more specifically in the Horde base “Camp Tunka’lo”just north of Dun Niffelem, home of the Sons of Hodir.
“Change the wind direction” is Part of a quest line, which you can start with the quest “Xarantaur, the Witness”. However, you don’t necessarily need this quest to get as far as “Changing the Wind Direction”. This is just a quest that should lead you to the quest giver. Once you have found Xarantaur by yourself, you can begin the quest line at The Witness and the Hero. Here are all the tasks you need to do before Changing the Wind Direction:

What do I have to do for the quest?
In order to successfully complete “Changing the Wind Direction” you must defeat the North Wind. For this you have to use the teaching hammer in the temple of life, you transform into Stormhoof and face the North Wind. You win the fight by casting your AoE spell and melee attack on the opponent and nullifying your Earth Shock until he casts Cyclone. Once you bring him to 20 percent of his life points, North Wind will drop the Horn of Elemental Rage. Use the horn and then turn in the quest to Xarantaur.
Possible bugs & issues when completing “Change the Wind Direction”
The quest is known as a problem child since several bugs may appear during the course. Sometimes they are quite harmless, such as a melee attack that does not work correctly. Sometimes there are also showstopper bugs that prevent you from progressing. Sometimes you just can’t interact with the horn that drops after the fight. Or north wind resets again and again. There are several solutions to the various bugs that you can try one after the other:
- Pay attention to your positioning and always stay on the path so that the north wind doesn’t reset
- Does not attack the quest mob if other players have summoned it
- Do not use the horn if other players have defeated the North Wind
- Repeat the quest and disable your addons if necessary so you can properly interact with the horn
